Who turns up when you ring

How the job usually goes

You ring and describe what the roof is doing. We come out and get up to it, because nobody can price a roof properly from the pavement, and half of what looks like one problem from the ground turns out to be another one at the ridge.

Then you get a price for the work, and what it does and does not cover. If a repair will see you right for years we will say so rather than talk you into a re-roof. If it will not, we will tell you that too, and you can go and get another price on it. Customers who did ring round have told us where we landed, and it was not at the expensive end.

Once it starts, you get told when we are coming and when we are not. Roofing runs on weather and on the job before yours overrunning, so the useful thing is not a promise, it is a phone call.

What we are not

We are not a national firm with a sales team, and there is no finance package or pressure to sign tonight. If you want to think about it, think about it.

We are also not the cheapest van in the county, and if a price sounds too good next to ours it usually is. What you are paying for is the bit that does not show: the felt and battens under the tiles, the lead dressed properly around the stack, the gutter hung to a fall instead of hung level.
